Funding Application

Matt & Celia made a start on the 2018/19 Funding Acquittal Report on Wednesday 24th April.

This included emailing key participants with the link to the Survey Monkey form. After confirming figures with Kurt via phone, Anja emailed our funding acquittal form to Rena Singh before the end of this meeting.

In this form we declared that of the original $15,000 provided, $6790 (incl gst) has been carried forward.

There was some confusion about whether we were to report on the initial $10,000 only or to include the $5,000 also received last year, due to notes kept from our previous meeting when Kurt and Tiffany spoke with Rena. Celia recorded this as:

We are holding $5,000 from the original grant for carry-on projects into 2019-2020, which we do not need to report on in the current acquittal paperwork.

We have just received a further $5,000 for 2019-2020 STEM Hub projects, plus a further $2,000 for travel expenses for representatives to attend the next 3-day ASPAC conference (STEM Forum) in Brisbane in early September

Meet & Greet in May

We discussed another Meet & Greet format with the aim of inviting an expanded STEM clientele to re-engage with industries, organisations and universities. We will be asking for input on our current year of funding.

We decided this should be no more than one hour long but relatively informal to receive ideas and requests from the various sectors. (We will repeat the strategy of free complimentary drink and Pizza at 6.30pm as with our last social gathering.)

Anja rang Kurt and asked if he would arrange to book Dunwoody’s again for preferably Friday 24th May for a meeting from 5.30 – 6.30pm, with our second preference being Friday 31st May.

It was agreed this could be done through a simple email, plus using Meet Up.

Action: Kurt please make booking with Dunwoody’s for 24/5 (or 31/5)
Action: Celia create words for email
Action: Tiffany to distribute email
Action: Kurt & Matt to sort out Meet Up for this

Next STEM HUB Meeting

TBA: Probably 24/5/2019 at Dunwoody’s.
